Clarity is
my craft.
I'm Karthik Rahul, a principal product designer based in London, UK. For ten years I've helped teams design products that feel inevitable — even inside the most complex systems.
I'm a Principal Product Designer who has spent ten years turning complex digital products into things people can actually use. My work lives at the intersection of product strategy, UX research, and craft — often inside dense enterprise workflows that other designers avoid.
I care about usability, HCI, systems thinking, and the quiet discipline of making the complicated feel inevitable. I've designed trading consoles, healthcare platforms, logistics tools, and design systems — and mentored 450+ designers along the way.
Consulting taught me that the best design work starts long before a single screen. It starts with reframing the problem, aligning stakeholders, and finding the clarity that lets a whole team move together.
Reframe first
The best design starts by questioning the problem — before a single pixel.
Systems over screens
I design the connective tissue: flows, patterns, and design systems that scale.
Measure what matters
Every decision earns its place through usability, adoption, and business impact.
Teach as I go
Good consulting leaves a team stronger than I found it.
What drives me
Usability. Human-computer interaction. Systems thinking. And the quiet joy of making a complicated product feel like it was always meant to be this simple. Outside work, I mentor, speak, and keep building the design community I wish I'd found earlier.
